The unit is part of the executive director's team and manages state and federal government relations for the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Interacts with legislators, legislative and governor’s staff, agencies, and organizations on behalf of the system and individual colleges as appropriate
- Prepares a single comprehensive legislative agenda for the community and technical college system
- Coordinates legislative interaction of State Board staff and college representatives
- In collaboration with Communications, coordinates system-wide messaging
