Community and technical college board to discuss two-year colleges’ economic contributions and review budget
OLYMPIA – The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will review the 2007 operating budget, discuss legislative activities, and engage in dialogue regarding the ways two-year colleges can contribute to the state’s economy when it meets on March 8 and 9 at South Puget Sound Community College.
"At this meeting, the State Board will continue developing and refining policies that expand the two-year colleges’ role in the state’s economic development,” said Charlie Earl, State Board executive director.
The board will also act on a property purchase proposed by Whatcom Community College and a resolution honoring Ken Minnaert for his 25 years as president of South Puget Sound Community College.
A study session is scheduled from 1:30-5:15 p.m. on March 8. The Board will conduct regular business from 8:15 to 10:45 a.m. on March 9. These sessions will take place in Building 22, Room 200-A at South Puget Sound Community College, 2011 Mottman Road SW, Olympia. The board has scheduled a dinner Wednesday with the executive director. All meetings are open to the public.
