Community and technical college board to consider funding options
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on Wednesday, April 30, and Thursday, May 1, at North Seattle Community College (NSCC) to discuss the 2009 operating budget and tuition rates.
“The State Board will give its perspectives and recommendations about ways to allocate funds to further system-wide goals,” Executive Director Charlie Earl said. “The Board will consider options for tuition rates, given the Legislature’s approval to increase tuition up to 2 percent.”
During the two day meeting, the State Board will also discuss operating and capital budget ideas for the 2009-11 biennium.
The study session is scheduled from 12 to 5:15 p.m. on April 30. The Board will have breakfast with Seattle Community College District trustees and staff at 7:30 a.m. on May 1. The regular meeting is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 1.
All meetings are open to the public and will be held at the NSCC North Star Dining Room, College Center Building, 9600 College Way NE, Seattle. The Board will meet for dinner at Troiani Ristorante, Seattle, at 6:30 p.m. on April 30.
