July 21, 2008 - Five community and technical colleges have been awarded Hospital Employee Education and Training (HEET) grants from the State Board for Community & Technical Colleges (SBCTC) to meet the growing demand for more well-trained healthcare workers in Washington.

July 14, 2008 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold a special meeting via telephone conference on Tuesday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. to consider a resolution to increase to $400,000 the signature authority of the SBCTC Executive Director on behalf of the Center for Information Services (CIS).

June 10, 2008 - The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) has launched a new public website, CheckOutACollege.com.

June 6, 2008 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, at Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) to take action on the 2009 operating and 2009-11 capital budget requests.

May 6, 2008 -The state’s community and technical colleges have approved an additional resource to help more recently separated service members get retrained in high-demand fields.

April 25, 2008 -The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on Wednesday, April 30, and Thursday, May 1, at North Seattle Community College (NSCC) to discuss the 2009 operating budget and tuition rates.

April 15, 2008 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold a special meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m. to consider approving Columbia Basin College’s proposal to offer an applied bachelor’s degree.

March 6, 2008 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on March 12 and 13 in Olympia to launch an in-depth process to develop the system’s 2009-11 biennial budget requests.

January 25 , 2008 - The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will meet on January 31 in Olympia to hear the results of a statewide student survey and start the process of identifying priorities for the 2009-11 biennial budget.
