The community and technical college system frequently interacts with the following state agency partners:
The Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board is a
10-member citizen board that administers the state's student financial aid programs and provides planning, coordination, monitoring and policy analysis for all higher education in Washington.
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction leads, supports, and oversees all K-12 education. OSPI works in partnership with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges to coordinate and provide guidance for programs such as Running Start, College in the High School, Tech Prep and the Math Transition Project.
The Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board provides planning, coordination, evaluation, and policy analysis for the state's training system as a whole. The board assists in the development of training recommendations for the governor and legislature, in cooperation with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development provides assistance to companies looking to relocate to Washington and helps with business financing through loans and grants. CTED's Economic Development Division works with the two-year college system to help attract, retain, and expand economic activity in Washington state.
