Update on Student Association agenda as Legislature reaches Floor Cutoff

As the quarter has come to a close, the State Board said goodbye to Brenda Portaro, the legislative intern from South Puget Sound Community College. During this session, she has participated in multiple advocacy days on the Hill, testified on bills that benefit immigrant students in the community and technical college system, and has met with legislators to advocate for the Washington State Community and Technical College Student Association and SBCTC legislative agendas. >>

Legislature reaches fiscal committee cutoff

February 24, 2017

The Legislature reached its second cutoff of the 2017 session today, with bills in fiscal committees need to be voted out in order to continue in the legislative process. Committees on Appropriations, Capital Budget, Finance, Ways & Means and Transportation held marathon hearings this week to move through full agendas and vote on bills before today's cutoff. >>
