Community and technical college students selected for Transforming Lives award

The Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT) will honor 34 community and technical college students as 2018 Transforming Lives award winners at a ceremony on Monday, Jan. 22 in Olympia. The annual award recognizes current students and alumni who overcame barriers to their academic goals. From the winners, five students were selected to be keynote speakers and to receive $500 each. >>

Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Ben Bagherpour, Vancouver, Wash., to serve on the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. Bagherpour, vice president of quality, IT and support services at SEH America, is an active supporter of education and economic development throughout Southwest Washington and is a vocal advocate for increasing workforce skills that lead to increased wages. >>

Board to hear update on system math course innovations

December 05, 2017

The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, Dec. 7. The board is expected to take action on an updated plan for ctcLink, the college system's software for students and employees to interact with colleges. The board is also slated to authorize expenditures for a gym renovation and student housing project at Bellevue College. >>
