Building a Culture of Belonging: Employee Resource Groups at SBCTC
In October 2020, the SBCTC Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee held a virtual event to celebrate the launch of Employee Resource Groups at SBCTC, titled “Building a Culture of Belonging: Employee Resource Groups at SBCTC.” Employee Resource Groups are employee-formed, employee-led groups formed around a shared characteristic or common interest that can positively affect professional development or retention.
The event showcased what Employee Resource Groups are, how to start one, and why they’re important. Additionally, it featured a panel discussion, during which panelists from within the CTC system as well as from Washington State’s Business Resource Groups shared the impact that resource groups have made on their lives. The recording of the event is available below.
The DEI Committee appreciated coming together to learn about and celebrate this important space for employees to build rapport across the agency. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the DEI Committee with any questions. You can find still more information about Employee Resource Groups on our Employee Resource Groups page.
