New aviation partnership program takes flight at Olympic College 

Residents of Kitsap and Mason counties looking to enter the workforce in the growing aviation field have a new pathway thanks to a partnership between Olympic College and Green River College. This fall, Olympic College launched its Aviation Technology Associate of Applied Science Program, which prepares students for careers as airline dispatchers, where they can earn a median pay of $56,000 per year. This program used a mix of online and in person classes taught at Olympic College and/or Avian Flight School in Bremerton.

Veterans and Licensed Practical Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing pathway expands opportunities

Olympic College recently launched a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing pathway tailored specifically to current and retired Air Force and Army military medics, with a Navy corpsman option coming soon. Current and former military medics can now apply their skill, experience and Joint Service Transcripts towards a bachelor's degree credential in Nursing. The Veteran to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (VL-BSN) pathway uses a flexible hybrid model that allows students to tailor their classes to meet the needs of working professionals seeking to grow their education. 

Olympic College premiers documentary filmmaking Certificate of Completion

The proliferation of streaming networks and social media are creating increasing demand for skilled filmmakers, and Olympic College is leading the way with its unique Film School. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Filmmaking is considered one of the best values in the nation, and this industry-leading program has a new certificate option for budding filmmakers in the Documentary Filmmaking Certificate of Completion Program. Led by award-winning documentary filmmaker Marq Evans, the Certificate of Completion offers the whole scope of documentary filmmaking, from development through distribution, in a hands-on and project-based environment. At the end of three consecutive quarters, students produce their own documentary film.
