Points of Interest
Green River College collaborates with regional employers to align programs with evolving industry needs. The Bachelor of Applied Science in Aeronautical Science prepares students for well-paying careers in aviation through classroom learning, hands-on training, and industry certifications. Through partnerships with flight schools, airports, and airlines, students gain practical experience that positions them to meet global workforce shortages. Graduates enter commercial, private, and unmanned aviation roles, strengthening the state talent pipeline and supporting a rapidly expanding sector vital to Washington’s economy.
Green River offers comprehensive support systems that foster belonging, leadership, and persistence. Programs such as the Commencement Achievement Program, the Outreach and Service-Learning Center, and student government, along with more than 50 student organizations, create meaningful opportunities for engagement. With 100 to 150 co-curricular events each year, students build civic responsibility and personal connection. The Open Doors program, offered in partnership with local school districts, provides a second chance to complete high school or begin college. The Gator Pledge removes barriers by offering emergency grants that help students stay enrolled when unexpected costs arise.
Green River’s LPN to BSN program expands Washington’s nursing pipeline by preparing Licensed Practical Nurses for bachelor-level practice. The 90-credit program blends classroom instruction, campus labs, and community clinical experiences that ready graduates for the NCLEX-RN exam. Green River also advances equity through Washington State’s Guided Pathways initiative, which provides clear academic roadmaps, proactive advising, and simplified program structures. These efforts help students, especially those from underserved communities, navigate college with confidence and reach their transfer, workforce, or career goals.
