Whatcom Community College president to retire after 17 years
A change of command is coming soon to Whatcom Community College. President Dr. Kathi Hiyane-Brown announced that she will be retiring as of March
1, 2025. ... During her tenure, Whatcom Community College (WCC) expanded their curriculum
to include cybersecurity, health professions, engineering and social work.

spirit that led to the founding of Centralia Junior College in 1925. More community
colleges followed our lead over the next four decades and, in 1967, the state Legislature
