Skagit Valley College, College Success Foundation partner to serve foster, homeless youths

... The Passport to College program, started at Skagit Valley College in the past year, pairs foster and homeless youths with a person familiar with the struggles they may face, giving them a person to turn to for anything they need — be it support, advice, or help navigating higher education.

Walla Walla Community College President Chad Hickox has been consistent about his school’s stance on vaccines while preparing for an increased return to in-person learning this fall. While students won’t be required to get vaccinated, they are encouraged do so.

Program at local college helps first-generation students get a 4-year business degree

Concert series to increase tourism in Wenatchee features Eagles cover band

The weekly Concerts on the Campus series is in full swing at Wenatchee Valley College. The latest group to play is Fastlane, a cover band of Eagles music. The goal of the shows is to increase tourist traffic in Wenatchee while raising money for the school through the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation.

Bellevue College announces vaccination scholarships

If you are a Bellevue College (BC) student, it’s your lucky day. BC has announced a new way to encourage students to get vaccinated before the fall of 2021: student scholarships. The Washington State COVID-19 Vaccination Program is joining forces with the Bellevue College Foundation to fund scholarships ranging from $250 to $400 for students who are vaccinated.

Major student loan servicer leaving federal loan program

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency said Thursday that it would not be extending its federal student loan servicing contract with the Department of Education once it expires in December.
