OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will welcome Gov. Jay Inslee to its Study Session Feb. 2. The discussion is expected to center on the State Board's and governor's vision and priorities for the state's community and technical college system.

Board members will also learn about six bachelor's degree program proposals, including a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at North Seattle College, the first proposal after the Legislature last year authorized community and technical colleges to provide the degrees. In addition, South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia will present a proposal for its first Bachelor of Applied Science: a degree in craft brewing.

The board will also convene for its regular business meeting Thursday, Feb, 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Board members are expected to give final approval to a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cybersecurity at Bellevue College and a BAS in Accounting at Everett Community College.

The meetings are open to the public and will be held remotely by Zoom. The meeting agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board's website.
