State Board to vote to distribute 2022-23 funds to colleges
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting Thursday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Board members are set to vote on the college system's 2022-23 state operating budget allocations. The board's approval will distribute funding from the state Legislature to Washington's 34 community and technical colleges beginning July 1.
The college system's 2023-25 capital budget request to the state Legislature is also slated for a vote. Board members will also discuss development of the system's 2023-25 operating budget request to the Legislature.
The board will also hold a study session Wednesday, May 4. Members will hear how the system is meeting the equity goal of its strategic plan, including overall progress on the plan, and hold a training on implicit bias. They'll also receive a quarterly update on the system's Bachelor of Applied Science degrees.
The meetings will be held at the State Board offices in Olympia. The agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website. Both meetings are open to the public.
