Debra EntenmanGov. Bob Ferguson has appointed State Representative Debra Entenman (D–Kent) as a member of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges

A former non-traditional student who is passionate about education for people of all ages and stages of life, Rep. Entenman attended Highline College as an adult student and went on to study political science at Seattle University. In 2015, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees at Renton Technical College.

Rep. Entenman's legislative work includes advancing workforce development, education access, and policies that connect Washingtonians to stable, well-paying jobs. Throughout her time in the Legislature she has championed investments that support students, workers, and local economies, with a particular focus on practical, career-connected education and training opportunities.

“I look forward to working with fellow board members, educators, and community partners to support students and strengthen our workforce,” Entenman said. “When our community and technical colleges thrive, Washington thrives.”

The nine-member, governor-appointed Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges provides leadership, advocacy, and coordination for Washington’s system of 34 public community and technical colleges. Each year, over 300,000 students train for the workforce, prepare to transfer to a university, gain basic math and English skills, or pursue continuing education.

Rep. Entenman succeeds Dr. Bernal Baca of Tacoma, who passed away in late 2025.
