Martin Valadez appointed to state community and technical college board

Gov. Jay Inslee has appointed Martin Valadez of Pasco, Wash., as a member of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. As a board member, Valadez continues his extensive service in higher education, currently serving as the Tri-Cities regional director of Heritage University, based in Toppenish, Wash. Prior to Heritage, Valadez worked in different roles for Columbia Basin College in Pasco, including as a professor of history and intercultural studies, vice president for diversity and outreach and chief executive officer of the CBC Foundation. >>

State Board to vote on final approval of 2 applied bachelor's degrees

The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges is set to vote on final approval of two applied bachelor's degrees at its Thursday business meeting. The board, which is scheduled to meet from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 4, will hear final approval requests for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing (RN-to-BSN) at Bellingham Technical College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership at Lower Columbia College. >>
