Diversity, equity statement, 2019-20 capital budget allocations on June State Board agenda
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will convene its regular business meeting Thursday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake. The board is scheduled to vote on a diversity and equity statement for the community and technical college system and officially allocate the 2019-21 capital budget funds from the state to the colleges. The board is also set to take action on federal awards for basic education for adults providers and workforce awards and allocations for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
The board will hold a study session on Wednesday, June 26 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. where board members are scheduled to hear updates on the Washington College Grant — formerly the State Need Grant — and the Washington Opportunity Scholarship, following significant changes made to the programs during the 2019 legislative session. The board will also discuss college system efforts on diversity and equity and hear an update on the system's retirement savings plan.
The business meeting and study session will be held at Big Bend Community College's Building D-1800, Masto Conference Center at 7662 Chanute Street NE in Moses Lake. The meeting agenda and background materials are posted at the State Board website. The meetings are open to the public.
