Corrections Education Navigators
Corrections Education Navigators
he Corrections Education Navigator Program supports justice-impacted individuals in successfully accessing and completing educational opportunities that prepare them for meaningful careers and community reintegration. Navigators serve as trusted guides who work one-on-one with students to remove barriers, connect them with resources, and provide personalized support throughout their educational journey.
Operating across correctional facilities and in the community, Navigators collaborate with the Department of Corrections, colleges, reentry service providers, and community-based organizations. Their work includes assisting students with college applications, financial aid, and career planning; coordinating reentry supports such as housing, employment, and technology access; and tracking progress to ensure that students remain on a pathway toward success.
By building strong relationships, offering tailored guidance, and fostering hope, Corrections Education Navigators play a vital role in advancing education as a cornerstone of reentry. Their efforts not only help students achieve certificates, diplomas, and degrees but also strengthen communities by expanding opportunities for economic mobility and reducing recidivism.
