Ungraded Courses
Waiver Purpose
Based on rules and policies developed by the State Board, community colleges may charge tuition rates that differ from standard rates for ungraded courses. The State Board has authorized community colleges to set their own rates for the following ungraded courses:
- Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Continuing Education (93)
- Farm Management and Small Business Management (96)
- First Aid (94)
- Journeyperson (90)
- Parent Education (95)
- Retirement (97)
The fee collected from students is an operating fee.
Community colleges are authorized to set the course fee for students enrolled in the following ungraded courses:
- Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Continuing Education (93)
- Farm Management and Small Business Management (96)
- First Aid (94)
- Journeyperson (90)
- Parent Education courses (95)
- Retirement (97)
All ungraded course fees are operating fees and subject to requirements in RCW 28B.15.031– "Operating fees"- Defined - Disposition
RCW 28B.15.069(4) – Building fees-Services and activities fees-Other fees
WAC 131-28-026(3) – Tuition charges for certain ungraded courses.
