CS/IS programs train students for high-demand careers

Spokane Falls Community College offers excellent programs in Computer Science and Information Systems (CS/IS), preparing students for careers or continued education. The computer science degree programs include cybersecurity, forensics, network security and information systems. In addition to associate degrees, SFCC also offers Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree options in Information Systems and Technology and in Cybersecurity. In 2019, the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security designated the SFCC cybersecurity program as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

Music and audio engineering degrees

The Department of Music and Recording Arts at SFCC offers degrees in music and audio engineering. Students pursuing a career in music performance, teaching or composition choose the Associate of Fine Arts in Music. In addition to obtaining a strong foundation in music theory, students take private lessons and participate in our many musical performance opportunities. Students interested in a career in studio recording, live sound engineering or sound design choose the Associate in Applied Science in Audio Engineering. Whether students want to teach, perform or work in the music industry, they can get started here.

Educational Interpreter Training

SFCC offers the only Educational Interpreter Training Program (ITP) in Washington state with all coursework available either fully on the ground or completely online. Students develop proficient skills in American Sign Language (receptively and expressively) so that each can become competent in the field of educational interpreting. Graduates may become an interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Educational Interpreting field. Instructors provide high quality learning opportunities, including access to an ITP lab, real world K-12 classroom and agency internships and help with job placement at the annual Interview Day for employers.
