Legislature reaches fiscal committee cutoff

The Legislature reached its second cutoff of the 2017 session today. Bills in fiscal committees need to be voted out in order to continue in the legislative process. Committees on Appropriations, Capital Budget, Finance, Ways & Means and Transportation held marathon hearings this week to move through full agendas and vote before today's cutoff.

The Senate Higher Education Committee took testimony from five college trustee appointees Monday, voting them out of committee and on to the full Senate.

Trustees testify before Senate Higher Education Committee

The following community and technical college trustee appointments were heard in the Senate Higher Education Committee at its Monday hearing. All appointments were voted out of the committee and now head to the full Senate for its consideration.

The House and Senate will begin floor debates next week, debating and voting on bills before the March 8 floor cutoff date.
