Legislature awaits budget deals with session's end two days away
With time running out on the 2021 regular session and budget negotiations still underway, legislators this week continued concurrence votes and debating bills necessary to implement the budget, including the proposed capital gains tax. The 105-day session ends Sunday.
For the community and technical college system, the Senate concurred with House amendments to E2SSB 5194, the equity and access in community and technical colleges bill, and E2SSB 5227, the bill requiring diversity, equity, inclusion and antiracism training at colleges and universities. Both bills now go to Gov. Inslee for signature.
