Edmonds College receives state recognition for its new construction pre-apprenticeship program
The Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council, and Labor and Industries
has issued a formal recognition to the Construction pre-Apprenticeship Program at
Edmonds College. ... This recognition, which is good for three years, will allow the college to work
closer with labor unions to articulate the curriculum for direct or preferred entry
into paid apprenticeships.

Students embrace peer mental health counseling
A new survey finds increased interest in peer mental health counseling. Experts say
it can help alleviate overburdened campus services, but they stress the importance
of proper training. ... Nearly half of all students reported that disruptions caused
by the pandemic make them more likely to seek out peer counseling, including 20 percent
who say they are “much more likely.”

S&P announces stable outlook after 4 years
After four years of negative outlooks, S&P Global has revised its outlook for global
nonprofit higher education to stable, the ratings agency announced Thursday. “Most
colleges and universities have successfully responded to the pandemic, with significant
help from federal emergency funding and record investment gains in fiscal 2021,” the
S&P outlook report states.
