Community and technical college board to hear math success plan
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting in Olympia on Thursday, March 26 from 8 to 11 a.m.
The board will discuss a strategic plan to help students successfully complete pre-college and college-level math courses. The math plan seeks to expand, on a statewide scale, innovative strategies that have already proven effective at individual colleges. Math is a key hurdle for students as they work to complete college certificates and degrees.
Prior to its regular business meeting, the State Board will hold a study session Wednesday, March 25 from 1 to 5:15 p.m. This will include a presentation on the influence of generational values on college campuses and an update on ctcLink, a project to replace 30-year-old student services and administrative software at all 34 community and technical colleges.
The study session and business meeting will be held at the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges office, Cascade conference room, 1300 Quince Street SE in Olympia. Meeting agenda and background materials are posted at the State Board website.
Both meetings are open to the public.
