The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026. Included in the agenda are updates on the 2026 legislative session and financial health measures, as well as discussions with leadership from the Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges (WACTC), American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and Washington Education Association (WEA).
Members of the State Board are slated to vote on resolutions that include proposed Bachelor of Science degrees at Tacoma Community College and increases to local capital expenditures at Bellevue College and Olympic College.
Board Chair Marin Valadez will introduce a resolution to recognize Board Member Jay Reich’s years of service and dedication to the State Board. Mr. Reich was appointed in 2013.
A study session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, during which time Board members are expected to review the Governor’s 2026 supplemental budget proposals and receive updates on international students, baccalaureate programs, and improving completion and transfer rates.
The study session and business meeting will be held at the SBCTC Agency Office at 1500 Jefferson St SE, Olympia, WA 98501 in room 2208 and streamed live on TVW. The agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website. The meetings are open to the public.
