State Board to take action on 2017 legislative agenda
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17. The board will discuss the college system's capital budget development and enrollment projections. It's also slated to take action on the system's 2017 legislative agenda, which focuses on creating the diverse talent pool needed to fill thousands of jobs and grow the economy. Thursday's business meeting is open the public.
Prior to the business meeting, the State Board will participate in the Washington Association of College Trustees annual fall conference Wednesday, Nov. 16. Board members will join community and technical college trustees, presidents and public information officers for a day-long session to better understand the legislative process, the state's higher education policy and budget timeline.
After the conference, the State Board will hold a study session in which members will hear from graduates of college applied bachelor's degree programs.
The business meeting will be held at South Seattle College, 6737 Corson Ave. South in Seattle. The conference and study session will be held at the Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center, 17620 International Blvd. in Seattle.
