Advisory: Governor to proclaim April 3 Community and Technical College Day

OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee will proclaim April 3 Community and Technical College Day in celebration of the college system's 50th anniversary at the Legislative Building in Olympia, Monday, April 3 at 4 p.m.

Inslee will be joined by former Gov. Dan Evans, who signed the legislation creating what is now the community and technical college system on April 3, 1967. State Board members, trustees, presidents and executive directors — current and former — will also attend the event, along with students, alumni and invited guests.

Guests will hear from Gov. Inslee, former Gov. Evans and State Board Executive Director Marty Brown. The formal signing of the proclamation will follow their remarks.
