State Board to vote on final approval of 2 applied bachelor's degrees

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges is set to vote on final approval of two applied bachelor's degrees at its Thursday business meeting. The board, which is scheduled to meet from 8:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. on Oct. 15, will hear final approval requests for:

The board will also review the community and technical college system's 2021 legislative agenda and priorities. Policy requests include asking the Legislature to lift the state business and occupation tax credit sunset on the Customized Training Program.

Prior to the business meeting, the board will hold a study session on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Members will discuss strategies for the community and technical college system to support the state's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and approaches colleges can take to close gaps in student completion.

The study session and business meeting will be held remotely by Zoom. The meeting agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website. The study session and business meeting are open to the public.
