OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its August business meeting Friday, Aug. 27 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. to give final consideration to the college system's 2022 supplemental budget request to the Washington state Legislature. The proposed request includes funding to integrate climate change curriculum throughout the college system, as well as expand cyber security enrollments.

Prior to its business meeting, board members will convene for their annual retreat Thursday, Aug. 26. During the retreat, members will discuss the potential impact of the America's College Promise proposal, federal legislation that would provide two years of community and technical college tuition free. State Board held a closed executive session Wednesday, Aug. 25 to evaluate the performance of a public employee.

The retreat and business meeting will be held remotely and are open to the public. The meeting agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website.
