State Board to vote on final approval of 2 applied bachelor's degrees

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges is set to vote on final approval of two applied bachelor's degrees at its Thursday business meeting. The board, which is scheduled to meet from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 4, will hear final approval requests for:

The board will also hear an update on the 2021 legislative session, including presentations from the State Board's student legislative interns.

Prior to the business meeting, the board will hold a study session on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Board members will hear presentations on a statement of need for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Behavior Healthcare at Centralia College, the college system's initiative to increase student food and housing security, and ways in which the system is working to increase enrollments at the colleges.

The study session and business meeting will be held remotely by Zoom. The meeting agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website. Both meetings are open to the public.
