BEdA Handbook
Disability Justice & Accessibility
Description for program track
In equity work, we often forget many other identities that are ostracized by society. While it is true that leading with race gets to the heart of equity, we have a responsibility in higher education to ensure our programs are accessible to our students. We affirm our commitment to collective liberation and interdependence. No body, or mind can be left behind. Only moving together can we accomplish the revolution we require.
Outcome
Attending any session within this conference track, participants will be able:
- To inform and promote the values of diversity and social responsibility by ensuring our BEdA programs are aware of ableism and disability through a lens of intersectionality.
- Understand practices that center on disability justice and accessibility as a means to equal and equitable economic, social and political rights and opportunities for adult learners in BEdA.
