Affordable Training for a Competitive World

Washington's community and technical colleges offer the high-quality, customized employee training your business needs to succeed. Colleges train new or current employees at the work site or in a classroom. Your topics, your schedule, your location…your way.

Job Skills Program

Businesses participating in the Job Skills Program receive training with a college and provide a dollar-for-dollar match. The businesses contribute at least 50 percent of training expenses through cash, in-kind payments or a combination of both.

Customized Training Program

Businesses participating in the Customized Training Program receive training with a college and then repay costs over an 18-month period, interest-free. They also get a state Business and Occupation (B&O) tax credit equal to 50 percent of the training cost.

How do I apply for one of these programs?

Contact the training coordinator at your nearest community or technical college to discuss your specific training needs. Working with you, the college will submit an application to the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) for the grant or loan.

Funds are awarded to the college providing training services to your organization.
