The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges will hold its regular business meeting on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Included in the agenda is the 2027-2029 capital budget proposal resolution, a financial health measures update, and reports from leadership of the following organizations:
- Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT)
- Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges (WACTC)
- American Federation of Teachers (AFT)
- Washington Education Association (WEA)
Members of the State Board are slated to vote on resolutions that include a proposed Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Pierce College and local capital expenditures at five colleges.
Board Chair Marin Valadez and SBCTC Executive Director Nate Humphrey will introduce a resolution to recognize Board Member Crystal Donner’s years of service and dedication to the State Board. Ms. Donner was appointed in 2018.
A study session will be held on Wednesday, April 8, during which time Board members are expected to receive a wrap-up presentation on the 2026 legislative session and updates on baccalaureate programs, financial stability work, and the 2027-2029 Capital Budget Academy.
The study session and business meeting will be held at South Seattle College at 6000 16th Ave SW, Seattle WA 98106 in Cascade Hall, Room 107, and streamed live on TVW. The agenda and background materials are posted on the State Board website. The meetings are open to the public.
