Canvas is the learning management system (LMS) used by the Washington state community
and technical colleges. It is our primary tool for hosting online courses, course
communication, and assessments and it integrates with many other eLearning tools used
by our colleges.
How to Log In to Canvas
Effective July 19, 2022: At the SBCTC Canvas login page
you will be redirected to enter your SBCTC agency email and password to log in. Continue
to use your current Canvas ID and password until that date.
College Faculty and Staff
Log in using your home college’s local Canvas login page.
Log in to Canvas
with the Username and Password provided to you when you were enrolled.
Support for Technical and Access Issues
If updating your browser or system settings (see below) did not solve your issue,
please contact one of the following:
SBCTC agency employees
College faculty & staff
Contact your local eLearning or Canvas support office for support in accessing Canvas
courses (i.e. reset password, login information, etc.).
Other Canvas users
If you forgot your username and password and are signed up for a Canvas course through
a community-based organization or special program (such as Guided Pathways or Basic
Skills) please contact them directly.
Web Browsers & System Requirements for Instructure Canvas
Instructure made some recent changes to improve Canvas usability. As a result, it's
important to keep your browser(s) updated for the best Canvas experience.
Supported browsers for Instructure products
Instructure supports the current and previous major releases of the following browsers:
- Chrome 101 and 102
- Firefox 100 and 101 (Extended Releases are not supported*)
- Edge 101 and 102
- Safari 14 and 15 (Macintosh only)
