Athletic Waivers – Resident and Non-Resident
Waiver Purpose
Athletic waiver (resident and non-resident).
Waiver code: Resident W63; Non-resident W64
Colleges may waive up to 100 percent of the State Board established 15 credit resident operating fee rate. The waiver is available to grant-in-aid-eligible resident and nonresident student athletes.
For rates see: Tuition and Fees
Only the operating fee may be reduced by the waiver. Building fees and S&A fees cannot be waived by the athletic waiver.
The maximum amount that can be waived is the same for resident and non-resident students.
In accordance with NWAC policies to qualify for an athletic waiver, a student must be enrolled in 12 or more college-level credits (course number 100 or higher) across one or more Washington State community or technical colleges.
If a student is enrolled in fewer than 12 credits, they may still qualify if they can demonstrate that they are enrolled in at least 3 credits and have either:
- Earned 70 or more cumulative college level credits, or
- Completed an Associates degree.
