The Continuing Education Council (CEC) of Washington is the professional council that represents the continuing education mission across the community and technical college system. CEC reports through the Instruction Commission (IC) on policy development, system-wide trends, best practices and hot topics concerning continuing education (short-term non-credit certificate programs, professional development and personal interest courses, programming for seniors and children as well as corporate training). It serves as the professional and leadership association for its members. The council meets three times per year and conducts an annual Economic Impact Survey that measures the work being done statewide by Continuing Education Departments.
