The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges seeks an executive director for Washington’s community and technical college system, a large, diverse network of 34 colleges located throughout the state that collectively serve about 278,000 students each year. The nine-member, Governor-appointed State Board oversees policy development, secures and allocates state, federal and private grant funding, approves educational programs and sets strategic direction for the entire college system.

A Pivotal Role in Washington Higher Education

Headquartered in Olympia, the State Board seeks a strategic-minded, energetic executive director whose professional accomplishments demonstrate the leadership, management and communication abilities required to lead a diverse, federated college system.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of and commitment to the mission areas of the community and technical college system, the ability to facilitate consensus and build strategic collaborations, political acumen and the capacity to transform these qualities into effective advocacy.
